Role Summary
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be instrumental in designing and implementing scalable backend systems to support the company's core platform. This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to work directly with the founding and product teams, influence architectural decisions, and contribute to the evolution of a cutting-edge AI platform used by thousands of users.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain high-performance backend systems and APIs
Design, optimize, and manage SQL and NoSQL databases
Integrate and deploy AI models and data services into production environments
Ensure backend systems align with user and business goals
Stay current on emerging backend technologies and advocate for engineering best practices
Collaborate cross-functionally and occasionally engage with users for feedback-driven development

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong proficiency in Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django
Expertise in database design, management, and optimization (SQL and NoSQL)
Solid experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda)
Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration tools
Proven ability to design and scale production-grade backend systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent collaboration and communication abilities

Desirable Skills & Experience

Understanding of AI model deployment and integration
Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines
Familiarity with large-scale data processing or embedding generation
Passion for innovation within AI and fast-paced startup environments
