Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Boston (hybrid).

Role Summary:

iO Associates are currently supporting a growing Biotech on the appointment of a skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join their team in pioneering ML solutions for predicting health outcomes. This role will be instrumental in driving AI innovation in healthcare and contributing to the advancement of medical research. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will be involved in creating and implementing machine learning models to analyze and forecast disease progression, playing a crucial role in shaping the future of healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy machine learning algorithms for analyzing health data.
  • Utilize proprietary models to interpret clinical information effectively.
  • Present technical insights to internal and external stakeholders clearly.
  • Stay abreast of ML advancements to enhance modeling processes.
  • Engage with the scientific community on behalf of the organization.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, physics, or related field.
  • 3-4+ years of experience in building machine learning models for practical applications.
  • Proficient in unsupervised ML, EBM, NLP, LLM, optimization theory, or reinforcement learning.
  • Strong software development skills and experience in collaborative projects.
  • Proficiency in Python for machine learning and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated success in executing ML projects in a commercial environment.
  • Sound knowledge of fundamental ML concepts (linear algebra, statistics, optimization).

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Contributions to recognized open-source ML tools or frameworks.
  • Prior exposure to healthcare or clinical ML applications.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services for data processing.
