Director of DevOps

Chicago

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of DevOps to lead a team of talented DevOps engineers in AWS. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a DevOps culture across the organization. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in AWS, and experience in managing large-scale software projects.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers in AWS
- Develop and implement DevOps best practices and processes to improve the efficiency and scalability of our infrastructure
- Work closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration of code changes into production
- Design and maintain a continuous delivery pipeline to streamline the deployment process
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure the security and compliance of our infrastructure
- Continuously monitor and improve the performance of our infrastructure and applications
- Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet project goals and timelines
- Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps, including at least 5 years in AWS
- Strong technical expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation, and CloudTrail
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience managing and scaling large-scale cloud infrastructure
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- AWS certification (such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) is a plus
