Role Summary
As a pivotal addition to their team, the Senior Unreal Developer will spearhead the development and optimisation of cutting-edge real-time systems within Unreal Engine. This strategic role is vital for advancing our client's visualisation capabilities, ensuring their platforms remain at the forefront of the industry. Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and refinement of advanced real-time features in Unreal Engine 5, including interactive cameras, environmental effects, and user interaction tools.
Implement and optimise scene rendering using Nanite, Lumen, and other Unreal Engine 5 technologies to ensure high performance and visual fidelity.
Develop reusable framework components, pipelines, and supporting documentation to standardise processes across teams.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams-engineers, artists, and project managers-to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality visualisation projects.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to performance, rendering, and system architecture efficiently.
Mentor and support mid-level and junior developers, fostering professional growth and best practices in Unreal Engine development.
Contribute to technical planning, project scoping, and defining the strategic Unreal Engine roadmap to keep the studio at the technological cutting edge.

Essential Skills & Experience

Over six years of professional experience working with Unreal Engine, with a preference for experience in UE5.
Strong proficiency in C++ and Blueprints, alongside comprehensive knowledge of Unreal Editor tools and runtime systems.
Proven track record developing interactive features, procedural tools, and scalable architectures.
Deep familiarity with large environment workflows, real-time rendering optimisation, and dynamic lighting techniques.
Experience with version control systems such as Perforce or Git.
Excellent communication skills, with an ability to produce clear technical documentation.
Demonstrable leadership qualities with experience mentoring or managing development teams.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across complex projects.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Hands-on experience with VR/XR systems or virtual production techniques, including LED walls and nDisplay.
Knowledge of Unreal networking, replication, and database integration, especially MySQL.
Familiarity with Datasmith, CAD data workflows, or architectural visualisation pipelines.
Experience with automation, scripting in Python, or build systems within Unreal.
Understanding of real-time projection mapping and immersive performance environments.
