Role Summary: Join Our Client as a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to drive the development of foundational models for single-cell RNA sequencing data. In collaboration with a talented team of machine learning researchers and computational biologists, you will contribute to cutting-edge AI solutions and shape the core infrastructure behind the cell-replacement therapy platform. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about applying machine learning to address complex biological challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of machine learning models for biological data, spanning from research to production deployment
- Design, train, and optimize foundational models tailored for single-cell RNA sequencing and other high-dimensional omics data
- Construct scalable pipelines for training and inference across vast biological data sets
- Collaborate closely with computational biologists to ensure models yield biologically relevant outputs
- Create and deploy novel deep learning architectures, including transformer-based models customized for biological data
Essential Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in machine learning, deep learning, and large-scale data analysis, particularly in biological contexts
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, or related fields
- Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Demonstrated expertise in developing large-scale models, including transformer-based architectures
- Proven track record of independent research, from prototyping to production
- Enthusiasm for AI-driven biology and its immense potential in health care transformation
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Extensive background in biological research and modeling, with a focus on single-cell RNA sequencing data preferred
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience in an industry setting
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning techniques such as RLHF, PPO
- Prior exposure to start up environments with a self-directed, proactive work style
