iO Associates is currently partnered with an exciting custom software and technology consultancy that is seeking a skilled Principal Golang Engineer.
Their in-house product teams' partner with Fortune 500s to navigate the unknown - that space between an identified problem and a future-focused solution. You will help support them on a long term project. If the below requirements match your background, this may be the next move for you!
In this role, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable software solutions. You will be responsible for developing backend services, optimizing existing code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge products.
Some of your responsibilities include
* Mentoring junior software engineers to ensure best practices
* Working closely with client and provide consultative suggestions
* Working with development teams and project managers to ideate software solutions
* Developing client-side and server-side solutions
* Writing effective APIs
* Testing software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
* Troubleshooting, debugging and upgrading software
* Creating security and data protection settings
* Writing technical documentation
Our ideal candidate
* Thrives in a hybrid working environment
* At least 6 years' development experience with an emphasis on back-end development.
* At least 3 years' experience with common stacks and cloud technologies. AWS or Azure experience, notably.
* Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
* Knowledge of multiple back-end languages, specifically Golang (Java and Kotlin a plus) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, and Vue)
* Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Nginx) and UI/UX design
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A commitment to working in line with our company values
* Strong organizational skills
* A team player with a knack for visual design and utility
