I'm partnering with a highly selective, early-stage neuro biotech in San Francisco that's building its founding scientific team. We're looking for a hands-on PhD neuroscientist with strong experience in mouse surgeries (stereotaxic, viral injections, cranial implants) and EEG/EMG/ESG.

This is a ground-floor role where you'll run your own in-vivo studies and help shape the scientific direction. There's potential for a future Head-of path as the company scales.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mouse surgeries including stereotaxic procedures and implant setups

  • Conduct EEG/EMG/ESG and other electrophysiology recordings

  • Design, run, and analyze in-vivo neuroscience experiments

  • Maintain mouse colonies and ensure high-quality welfare and compliance

  • Collaborate with founders and cross-functional scientists on experimental strategy

  • Build early protocols, workflows, and best practices for the in-vivo function

What they're looking for:

  • PhD in Neuroscience or related field

  • 0-5 years post-PhD

  • Strong, hands-on mouse surgical experience

  • Electrophysiology experience (EEG/EMG/ESG)

  • Strong academic track record (publications, leadership, initiatives)

  • Fully onsite in South San Francisco

If you're excited by early-stage science and want to make a direct impact in a neuroscience startup, I'd love to speak with you.
