The Role

A leading insurance company is seeking an experienced VP of Data and Analytics for a rapidly expanding product. This position oversees all data and analytics efforts for this strategic product line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the extended leadership team.
  • Lead initiatives to shift the data team's focus towards business outcomes.
  • Collaborate on the data and analytics roadmap aligned with business goals, focusing on automation and modernization.
  • Enhance operational dashboards and migrate existing reports to new infrastructure, supporting business metrics like loss ratios and marketing analytics.
  • Drive the ideation and execution of data science solutions, leveraging OCR, NLP, and ontology development for enhanced business insights.
  • Establish governance frameworks for data modeling, metadata, and compliance, supporting complex data decisions and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a diverse team across multiple locations, fostering a unified culture and setting performance standards.
  • Identify data-driven solutions to business challenges, positioning the analytics function as a strategic partner in business transformation.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • 12-15+ years of progressive experience in data analytics leadership roles.
  • Experience in insurance or consumer financial services with complex data environments.
  • Expertise in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of OCR, NLP, LLMs.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and familiarity with Hadoop and MS Azure.
  • Proven track record of leading analytics teams and delivering business value through innovative data solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
