Role Summary:
Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer - PCBA to join their hardware team in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the research and development of cutting-edge marine propulsion technology. This is a full-time, on-site position, ideal for engineers looking to make a tangible impact in the maritime industry.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the full cycle PCB design process, from requirements gathering to integration with the system.
- Develop system interconnect diagrams and wire harnesses for marine propulsion hardware.
- Design analog front-end circuits with precision and noise immunity.
- Collaborate with firmware engineers for low-level firmware development.
- Conduct design reviews and contribute to cross-discipline collaborations.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Solid understanding of physics fundamentals for problem-solving.
- Experience in rapid prototyping and design validation through testing.
- Proficiency in interfaces like Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB.
- Knowledge of MCU, CPU, and FPGA devices and technologies.
- Familiarity with electronic CAD tools, especially Altium.
- Strong background in analog and digital electronics and circuits.
- Experience in design for signal integrity/power integrity.
- Test experience with data acquisition, analysis, and coordination.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of high-voltage power conversion systems.
- Ability to build physical prototypes by hand.
- Shop floor experience with circuitry and relevant vendors.
