AWS IoT Engineer

Contract to hire (6 Months)


We are looking for an AWS IoT Engineer to join our growing Technology Client. They are a leading innovator in their field and they strive to push the boundaries of technology to create impactful solutions.

We are seeking a talented AWS IoT Engineer to help drive their IoT initiatives forward and revolutionize how they connect, manage, and leverage data from their devices.
As an AWS IoT Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable IoT solutions utilizing AWS IoT services and also Kafka for stream processing.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to architect robust and secure IoT infrastructure, develop device communication protocols, and integrate IoT solutions with existing systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the advancement of IoT technologies.
Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable and secure IoT architectures using AWS IoT Core, and other relevant AWS services.
  • Develop and deploy IoT device management solutions for provisioning, monitoring, and remote management of connected devices.
  • Design and implement IoT data ingestion pipelines, including data collection, processing, storage, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to define device communication protocols and ensure seamless integration with IoT platforms.
  • Implement security best practices for IoT solutions, including device authentication, data encryption, and access control.
  • Optimize IoT solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Stay updated on emerging IoT technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our IoT capabilities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing IoT solutions using AWS IoT services.
  • Strong understanding of IoT protocols and standards (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, RESTful APIs).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C/C++.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Familiarity with edge computing concepts and technologies.
  • Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified IoT Specialty or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics concepts.
  • Experience with industrial IoT applications.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
