iO Associates are supporting a well-funded advanced engineering OEM on an urgent tooling-design requirement.
The team is looking for hands-on Tooling Design Engineers to support a focused hardware work package involving complex tooling for precision electro-mechanical parts. This is a short, high-impact assignment for someone comfortable taking complex tooling concepts into build-ready designs at pace.
You will be:
- Designing complex production, assembly and test tooling for precision electro-mechanical hardware.
- Developing complex fixtures, jigs and support equipment that improve build quality, repeatability and manufacturability.
- Working closely with design, manufacturing and shop-floor teams to resolve tooling issues quickly.
- Supporting fast-turn design changes as the hardware and build process mature.
- Keeping track of progression, updating internal documentation and processes.
You should have:
- Proven tooling, fixture or jig design experience within aerospace, automotive, robotics, advanced manufacturing or similar complex hardware environments.
- Strong 3D CAD capability and an understanding of drawing release, tolerancing and practical manufacture.
- Working knowledge of Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) is essential.
- Experience supporting complex precision mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies; actuator or motion-system experience is highly desirable.
- A practical, on-site mindset and availability to start from 31st August or 7th September.
This is a streamlined one-stage process, with full programme detail shared following an initial conversation and NDA following that.
