FAA Structures DER – Composite Structures (Contract)

Rate: $140-$180/hour (flexible depending on experience)

Overview

We are supporting a cutting-edge aerospace programme seeking an experienced FAA Structures DER to act as a key advisor to a growing structural engineering team.

This role will focus on guiding certification strategy across composite primary structures, with particular emphasis on fatigue and damage tolerance, supporting a next-generation aircraft development programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a Structures DER supporting FAA certification activities
• Provide guidance on Part 23 structural certification strategy
• Advise on static strength, fatigue, and damage tolerance (DaDT)
• Review and guide analysis, substantiation, and certification documentation
• Support alignment with FAA expectations and regulatory frameworks
• Mentor and advise internal structural engineering teams

Requirements

• FAA Structures DER (or equivalent delegation/ODA experience)
• Strong background in composite primary aircraft structures
• Deep expertise in:
  • Static structural analysis
  • Fatigue & damage tolerance
• Proven experience supporting aircraft certification (Part 23 and/or Part 25)
• Ability to operate at a strategic / advisory level
