Role Overview

Due to strategic growth initiatives, Our Client is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal to maintaining and improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical infrastructure and services. It offers an exciting chance to work on high-impact projects in a cutting-edge technology landscape, supporting the organisation’s mission to deliver resilient digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain automation tools to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents swiftly to minimise downtime.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline deployment pipelines and infrastructure management.
  • Design and implement scalable, highly available, and secure solutions.
  • Contribute to capacity planning and performance optimisation strategies.
  • Document processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical services.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly with Python, Bash, or similar.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Understanding of system security and compliance standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Previous involvement in large-scale digital transformation projects.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps, DevOps Engineer, or similar.
