We are supporting an urgent hiring campaign for multiple Software Verification & Validation Engineers to work on safety-critical avionics display programmes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-moving programme where the emphasis is on rigorous verification, certification evidence, and software quality – not feature development.
Software Verification & Validation Engineer – DO-178 (CONTRACT)
Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Contract: 4-6 months

Please note: These roles require a commitment to working on site in Cedar Rapids. A two-weeks-on / two-weeks-off rotation can be considered, although greater on-site presence is preferred and advantageous.Travel/accomodation is covered.
The Role
You will support the validation and verification of embedded avionics software in a regulated DO-178 environment. The work will be heavily V&V focused, covering requirements-based testing, test procedure execution, traceability, defect investigation, and the production of robust evidence for certification.
Key Requirements
– Demonstrable DO-178 – Level A or Level B experience.
– Strong, hands-on software validation and verification background within safety-critical avionics or embedded systems.
– C++ experience, with solid broader C/C++ capability.
– Experience supporting avionics display, flight-deck, flight-controls, or similar embedded safety-critical programmes.
– US citizenship is essential due to programme requirements.
What Is on Offer
This is a 4-6 month on-site contract with travel and accommodation covered. The client is moving quickly, with a 30-minute manager interview followed by a customer interview typically scheduled within 24-48 hours. Rates are competitive and will reflect relevant DO-178 Level A/B and V&V experience.
