The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to join a fast-scaling technology company at the ground floor. As Founding Engineer, you will work directly alongside the founder to translate a strong commercial vision into scalable technical execution. You will have genuine ownership over the product architecture, engineering strategy, and development standards – and a clear path to building and leading the engineering function as the company grows.
The product is already in the market, generating real revenue, and demand is accelerating. This is not a zero-to-one build – it is the moment of scale, and the decisions made now will define the company’s technical foundation for years to come.
What You Will Do
- Own the full-stack platform end-to-end, from back-end services and APIs through to user-facing product features
- Work directly with the founder to shape engineering strategy, product architecture, and development standards
- Build and improve scalable backend systems using Python and Flask
- Develop and maintain modern, responsive front-end interfaces using JavaScript and React (or similar)
- Design and implement data pipelines and AI-integrated application features
- Manage cloud infrastructure and contribute to system design decisions
- Help hire, mentor, and shape the engineering team as the company scales
What We Are Looking For
- Strong full-stack engineering background in Python and JavaScript
- Experience building and shipping real products in startup or early-stage environments
- Proficiency with Flask for back-end API development
- Modern front-end framework experience – React, Vue, or equivalent
- Cloud infrastructure experience – AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Ability to operate autonomously and contribute to strategic planning
- Comfortable working in close collaboration with a highly driven, fast-moving founder
- Experience working with unstructured data, document processing, or AI-integrated applications
- System design and architecture ownership experience
- Background in construction, real estate, or adjacent industries
- Located in or near Philadelphia for close day-to-day collaboration (possibly remote)
