Senior Structural Design Engineer | Aerospace

Location: Remote, US

Package: $120,000 to $160,000 base DOE + Unlimited PTO + Healthcare

iO Associates have partnered with a zero-emission aerospace pioneer currently assembling an elite engineering team. We need a senior figure to anchor the design group and drive a clean-sheet, 0 to 1 build.

You will own end-to-end primary and secondary structural design for a next-gen zero-emission platform. You will dictate load paths, joint design and material selection, pushing the limits of lightweighting and structural efficiency.

What you will do:

• Lead primary and secondary airframe structural design across composite and metallic materials.
• Own FEA-driven validation of composite structures across static, fatigue and aeroelastic load cases.
• Define material specs and manufacturing processes, including out-of-autoclave fabrication.
• Drive structural test programs from CAD through physical build and into FAA/EASA certification.

You must have:

• Proven 0 to 1 design and physical build experience on non-conventional aircraft (eVTOL, blended wing, or similar next-gen platforms)
• Deep technical expertise in advanced composites and next-generation metallic materials
• Heavy structural architecture background. You know how to define load paths and optimise joint design from a blank sheet
• Experienced with Siemens NX and FibreSim (or equivalent advanced composite design suites)
• Strong foundation in structural load analysis and certification pathways
