Senior Software Engineer

This critical role has been created to further develop and optimise Our Client’s multimodal data fusion platform, a cornerstone of their operational intelligence solutions. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will be instrumental in designing and deploying core platform components that handle complex data integration, transformation, and representation across various environments-from cloud to edge to air-gapped systems. Your work will directly influence the technical evolution of systems that deliver impactful real-world outcomes. U.S. Citizenship is required 

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the design, build, and operation of major platform components in close collaboration with the Chief Architect.
• Developing distributed systems capable of ingesting, transforming, and serving diverse multimodal data.
• Contributing to the development of agent frameworks and integrating existing architectures with emerging innovations.
• Defining deployment strategies suitable for cloud, on-premises, edge, and air-gapped contexts.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create standardised solutions addressing complex data challenges.
• Ensuring system security, access control, and data integrity standards are adhered to in partnership with security stakeholders.
• Influencing architectural decisions and engineering standards across the organisation.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in designing and delivering scalable, production-grade software systems.
• Proficiency in Python, with practical experience in handling multiple data modalities.
• Strong background in system architecture, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration and deployment across diverse infrastructure environments.
• Recent practical experience working with agent frameworks and AI-assisted development workflows, including tools like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
• Robust understanding of API design, cloud infrastructure, and security best practices.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to cross-disciplinary audiences.

Desirable skills that would enhance your application include:

• Experience with computational linguistics, graph technology, or knowledge representation.
• Familiarity with security standards specific to defence or government settings.
• Exposure to deployment at the edge or within air-gapped environments.
