Senior Composite Stress Engineer – North East US

Location: North East US (Full Relocation Support Available)

Salary: up to $165,000 (Let’s chat if you’d like more)

Must be a US Citizen or hold a Green Card.

I’m working with one of the most exciting, fast-paced electric aviation companies globally. They aren’t just revolutionizing the sky, they are actually building the hardware, testing it, and pushing hard for certification.

They need a industry leading Senior Composite Stress Engineer to join the Structures team and push the boundaries. This isn’t a role where you’ll be a small cog in a massive OEM machine, waiting weeks for a design change approval. You will own the structural analysis, drive the certification process and directly impact the success of a next-generation aircraft.

If you like punching above your weight, working fast and seeing your work actually fly, this is for you.

What you’ll actually be doing:

  • Owning the analysis: Generating and reviewing composite structural analysis for primary and secondary structures using FEM and hand calcs.
  • Driving certification: Compiling the stress reports that will actually get this aircraft certified (FAR 23/25).
  • Solving real problems: Supporting manufacturing, handling MRB, and running trade studies for product development.
  • Testing: Deriving test plans, developing material datasets, and analyzing the results from low-level to large-scale testing.
  • Leading: Mentoring the junior engineers on the team who are hungry to learn from someone who has been there and done it.

What you need to bring to the table:

  • Over 8 years in the full product lifecycle from concept to full-scale production.
  • Deep composite sizing experience. You need to know CMH-17, AC20-107B, ASTM, and FAR 23/25 inside out.
  • Highly proficient in MSC Patran, Altair HyperMesh, or similar FEA tools.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft primary load paths, materials, and manufacturing processes (both composite and metallic).
  • The mindset: You can take a complex problem, simplify it, and give a quick, accurate initial analysis when the clock is ticking.

This company moves fast. They want someone driven, energetic, and ready to get their hands dirty.

If you have the pedigree and want to dominate in the electric aviation space, let’s talk. Drop me a message or send your resume to get the conversation started.
