Oracle GoldenGate Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle GoldenGate Solution Engineer to join our client’s innovative enterprise team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in designing and supporting complex data replication pipelines, enabling real-time data movement across heterogeneous platforms including cloud environments and on-premises systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support CDC pipelines with Oracle GoldenGate to facilitate near real-time data replication.
• Manage Oracle GoldenGate processes, including Extract, Replicat, and Trail configurations across diverse environments such as cloud and mainframe systems.
• Maintain high availability and optimise the performance of GoldenGate environments, ensuring stable operations across all phases.
• Troubleshoot replication issues, including latency, failure mitigation, and data consistency checks, executing restarts, backfills, and replays as needed.
• Collaborate with DBA, data platform, infrastructure, and security teams to onboard new pipelines and align with enterprise data strategies.
• Implement automation, monitoring, and CI/CD practices for data pipelines, leveraging tools such as Terraform and Splunk.
• Develop operational standards, runbooks, and documentation to support scalable GoldenGate deployment and minimise reliance on vendor support.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate in a complex enterprise environment.
• Deep understanding of CDC, replication internals, and heterogeneous data systems.
• Experience supporting GoldenGate in cloud and on-premises settings, including AWS and z/OS.
• Strong troubleshooting skills related to replication latency, failures, and data integrity issues.
• Practical knowledge of automation, observability tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
• Effective collaboration skills with cross-functional technical teams.
• Excellent documentation and operational discipline.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Experience integrating GoldenGate with Kafka or similar streaming platforms.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures or data mesh concepts.
• Knowledge of enterprise security protocols (e.g., OAuth, RBAC).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Java.
• Background in enterprise ETL, CDC, or ESB solutions.
