Lead Aviation Interiors Technician (R&I Focus)

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL area

Hours: 40 Hours a week
Contract: 12 months
Please Note: We are unable to provide visa or Green Card sponsorship at this time. All applicants must hold current, unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a premier aviation completions and refurbishment center in South Florida to find a highly capable Lead Aviation Interiors Technician. This facility specializes in high-end, bespoke cabin modifications and full-scale overhauls for business aircraft.
They are looking for an R&I (Removal and Installation) expert, someone who serves as the go-to technical authority on the hangar floor when it comes to safely stripping down a VIP cabin and meticulously putting it back together. If you excel at managing complex interior tear-downs and ensuring zero-defect reassemblies, this is an excellent opportunity to join a top-tier team.

Key Duties

As the lead specialist for interior removal and reinstallation, your day-to-day work will center on managing the physical lifecycle of cabin components during major refurbishment projects. You will be responsible for carefully extracting and later reinstalling everything from bulkheads, galleys, and lavatories to passenger seating, divans, and decorative paneling.
A critical part of this role involves navigating the intricate web of aircraft systems. You must be adept at working around pneumatic, electrical, water, and waste lines without causing disruptions, ensuring all interior elements interface correctly with the aircraft’s core infrastructure. Precision and organization are paramount; you will be expected to systematically catalog, protect, and store all removed hardware and components to guarantee a flawless reassembly phase.
Collaboration is also a major component of your success. You will work in tandem with specialized departments-including upholstery, cabinetry, and finish shops, to sequence the workflow effectively. Your ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and blueprints will be essential in planning these complex R&I evolutions, making necessary mechanical adjustments, and ensuring all final installations meet rigorous quality and safety standards.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate brings a minimum of five years of hands-on experience focused specifically on the removal and installation of business jet interiors. A background in VIP completions, major MRO environments, or bespoke aircraft modifications is highly preferred.

You must possess a strong mechanical aptitude, with the proven ability to interpret complex technical documentation and execute work orders independently. A comprehensive understanding of how cabin monuments and seating integrate with underlying aircraft systems (electrical, plumbing, environmental) is required.
We are looking for a detail-driven professional who takes pride in their craftsmanship. Strong organizational habits are non-negotiable, given the sheer volume of parts and fasteners involved in a full cabin strip-down. Excellent communication skills are also vital, as you will frequently coordinate with shop floor management to keep projects aligned with tight delivery schedules. The role requires the physical stamina to perform standard aviation maintenance tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
