A well-backed aviation technology start-up with a substantial commercial pipeline is strengthening the team taking its aircraft and propulsion technology through FAA approval.

Reporting directly to the CTO, you will shape the certification path, working closely with the FAA and engineering teams to resolve the challenges of introducing new technology. This is a hands-on technical role with direct influence over design decisions, compliance strategy and programme delivery.

You will be:

  • Turning certification requirements into clear engineering actions, maintaining traceability through design, testing and compliance evidence.
  • Leading technical FAA discussions and submissions across Part 23 aircraft and Part 33 propulsion programmes.
  • Work with the C-suite to resolve novel-technology challenges and keep development aligned with the approval strategy.

You must have:

  • Strong experience in hands on FAA Part 23 certification – Having delivered a Part 23 major-modification STC or Part 33 programme through certification.
  • Strong knowledge of G-1/G-2, Part 23 Amendment 64, special conditions and compliance matrices.
  • Systems engineering and requirements-management experience, applying ARP4754 and ARP4761.
  • Experience supporting electric-propulsion certification.

If you have delivered complex FAA approvals and want to shape the certification of emerging aircraft technology, get in touch for a confidential conversation.
