Role Overview

As a strategic response to growing operational demands, our Client is seeking an experienced Field Operations Team Lead. This pivotal role involves overseeing the end-to-end planning, deployment, and management of autonomous surface vessel operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding the company’s field capabilities, ensuring precision in maritime missions, and delivering high-quality operational performance across diverse military and civilian engagements. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all on-the-ground operations supporting autonomous surface vessels.
  • Develop comprehensive mission plans, schedules, and contingency protocols for maritime deployments.
  • Oversee logistics, including packing, launching, recovery, and vessel readiness, ensuring optimal operational condition.
  • Manage maintenance, configuration, and technical support for vessels to guarantee mission success.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of Maritime Operations Specialists, fostering skill development and operational discipline.
  • Liaise with military units, governmental agencies, and international partners throughout planning and execution phases.
  • Represent our Client at strategic planning forums, demonstrations, and client engagements.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Software, and Manufacturing teams to ensure field operations align with technical capabilities and project goals.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven background in maritime operations or small-boat vessel management.
  • Extensive experience in maritime mission planning and execution within operational or military contexts.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing operational teams with accountability and sound judgment.
  • Strong logistical skills related to vessel deployment, maintenance, and configuration management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with military, government, and partner stakeholders.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
  • Ability to operate independently within a remote working environment.

Preferred Attributes

  • Military officer, warrant officer, or senior enlisted leader with maritime or special operations experience.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, joint, or multinational military exercises.
  • Exposure to autonomous or unmanned maritime systems.
  • Background in engineering, fleet operations, or operational planning within maritime contexts.
  • Prior experience working with government contracts or defence-related projects.
  • Veterans with experience in surface warfare, Special Boat Teams, Naval Special Warfare, or fleet operations are highly encouraged to apply.
