Role Summary
This pivotal role ensures the integrity and usability of data across key defense acquisition platforms, supporting vital decision-making processes. As a core member of the Data Product & Operations team, you will shape data standards, oversee data stewardship, and champion continuous improvement, playing a crucial part in advancing national security capabilities. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain data transformation and enrichment processes aligned with business needs.
• Create and enforce data standards, policies, and procedures to uphold data accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
• Oversee systems for data quality assurance and governance, ensuring ongoing integrity across all platforms.
• Identify data issues through assessment and lead initiatives to improve quality and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering and Product Managers to ensure data requirements are met.
• Document data sources, definitions, and workflows thoroughly to support transparency and auditability.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on data sets post-ingestion to confirm standards and requirements are satisfied.
• Utilise SQL and Python to query, analyse, and manipulate data, supporting various organisational needs.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members on data management best practices and standards.
• Manage and prioritise day-to-day Data Stewardship activities, allocating resources for new data initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years managing data teams, with proven leadership skills.
• Over 6 years of experience in data stewardship and data management roles within enterprise environments.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Extensive experience with Python for data manipulation, transformation, and scripting.
• Solid understanding of data governance principles and their application.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts clearly.
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and problem-solving capability.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Existing U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Experience working within startups or entrepreneurial settings.
• Advanced degrees such as a Master’s in Data Science or related disciplines.
• Knowledge of Generative AI and agent-based technologies.
• Familiarity with defence acquisition processes and related data sources.
• Track record managing data-focused projects and initiatives.
