About the Role

In response to increasing demand and strategic initiatives to strengthen data governance frameworks, Our Client is seeking a talented Data Governance Analyst. This pivotal role supports the operational aspects of data governance programmes, helping to embed discipline and consistency across client projects. As part of their strategic focus on data integrity and AI asset management, this position offers an exciting opportunity to influence critical data operations and contribute to trusted data ecosystems in a variety of sectors, including regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and document meetings, workshops, and interviews with both business and IT stakeholders, capturing key decisions, actions, and requirements.
  • Gather and analyse data governance and quality requirements, translating them into clear, structured documentation.
  • Prepare client-ready deliverables, such as reports, presentations, runbooks, and training materials that meet organisational standards.
  • Support the curation of metadata, including populating business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data lineage content, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in documenting AI-specific assets, such as training datasets and model metadata, applying governance standards to new data assets.
  • Review governance documentation, policies, and operational procedures to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Aid in delivering training sessions to client teams, updating training materials in response to programme evolution.
  • Track governance activities, including meeting cadences, action items, and decisions, producing status reports for leadership updates.
  • Use client governance and data catalog platforms to carry out day-to-day operational tasks efficiently.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst.
  • Proven track record supporting data governance programmes, including documentation, stakeholder engagement, and requirements analysis.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outputs.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to produce clear, professional content for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to articulate the value and importance of data governance initiatives.
  • Academic background in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS, or an equivalent field, or comparable practical experience.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with data governance or catalog platforms (such as Collibra, Alation, Atlan, Purview, or OpenMetadata).
  • Knowledge of AI/ML data documentation practices, including data lineage, model cards, and evaluation metrics.
  • Familiarity with frameworks like DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, or EDM Council CDMC.
  • Experience working within enterprise BI and analytics environments.
  • Industry experience in regulated sectors such as life sciences, financial services, or healthcare.
