Electronics Hardware Engineer

We’re hiring an Electronics Hardware Engineer to join an Electrical & Electronics team delivering high-power electronic hardware for aviation applications. You’ll contribute across the full product lifecycle including specification, design, prototyping, testing, certification, and manufacture.

Responsibilities

  • Design, test, validate, and support certification of high-power electronic hardware for aviation applications, with consideration for DO-254 and DO-160G.
  • Perform circuit and/or system design, integration, and testing at PCB, enclosure, and system level.
  • Model and run simulations using LTspice, Multisim, MATLAB/Simulink, and support PCB layout using Altium (or similar).
  • Set up and test motor/generator/inverter prototypes and high-voltage battery management/control circuit prototypes, including developing test procedures, measurement, and reporting.
  • Produce engineering lifecycle documentation: detailed designs, design justifications, change management, and non-conformance disposition.
  • Draft, review, and validate requirements in line with aerospace development lifecycle processes.

Required qualifications

  • BS degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with power semiconductor devices in high voltage (>400V) power electronics (Si MOSFET, Si IGBT, and/or SiC).
  • Knowledge of EMI filter design and DC/DC converters.

Preferred qualifications

  • Full lifecycle motor controller/inverter product design experience (ideally 600kW+), and/or full lifecycle high-voltage battery management system experience.
  • Experience with airborne systems certification requirements and testing (e.g., FAR Part 23/33, ASTM F39/F44, RTCA DO-160G, DO-178C, DO-254). ISO 26262 experience is also valued.
  • Strong technical writing skills for engineering documentation within a certification/quality framework.
  • EMI/EMC compliance testing and certification exposure.
