Role Overview

Due to strategic expansion, Our Client is seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and management of sophisticated data infrastructures. This pivotal role supports groundbreaking computer vision and AI initiatives, playing a key part in transforming raw data into actionable insights. The successful candidate will drive the development of scalable, high-integrity data pipelines that enable rapid AI model deployment, ultimately shaping the future of intelligent automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and oversee scalable data systems for computer vision and machine learning applications
  • Develop and optimise workflows for image annotation, data quality assurance, and annotation review processes
  • Manage large-scale data repositories using cloud platforms, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility
  • Automate data capture processes by interfacing with camera hardware and APIs
  • Establish comprehensive SOPs and guidelines for annotation tasks, including handling complex edge cases
  • Collaborate across teams to facilitate data standardisation, version control, and seamless data sharing
  • Lead initiatives around data anonymisation, including blurring and masking sensitive information prior to storage or analysis

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience in data manipulation and scripting for automation
  • Practical knowledge of computer vision imaging libraries such as OpenCV
  • Experience managing large datasets via cloud services like Google Cloud Storage (GCS)
  • Familiarity with data version control systems such as DVC for dataset management
  • Proven ability to deploy and utilise annotation tools including CVAT, Label Studio, or similar platforms
  • Deep understanding of computer vision data formats (COCO JSON, YOLO, Pascal VOC) and the ability to convert and consolidate annotation data
  • Knowledge of camera hardware, calibration techniques, and image quality optimisation
  • Experience with camera APIs for automated image/video capture workflows

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience setting up Human-in-the-Loop annotation pipelines with pre-trained models
  • Familiarity with Docker, Linux environments, and self-hosted object annotation software
  • Track record managing internal annotation teams or external vendor partnerships
  • Knowledge of data privacy and anonymisation practices, such as face or license plate blurring
